Port Talbot based IT ASSET DISPOSAL is a Computer Disposal who were established in 2008.
IT Asset Disposal Ltd is a WEEE Compliant Company. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive came into force in January 2007 and aims to both reduce the amount of WEEE being produced and encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it.
The WEEE Directive also aims to improve the environmental performance of businesses that manufacture, supply, use, recycle and recover electrical and electronic equipment.
As a company we promote a zero landfill policy.
We collect the equipment by van or lorry and then bring it back to our premises to quarantine.
When out of quarantine, the items are then data-wiped using our forensic data-wipe machine which erases data 8 times to Ministry of Defence standards.
If you would prefer to data-wipe your own equipment we will still use our machine to wipe again to protect the integrity of our service and protect your data.
Any items which we receive that can be reused are cleansed and then either brought back into the community via low- income families on our community programme or they are stored until we have the quantity for them to be accepted as part of a computers for schools programme in eastern Europe.
The items that cannot be re-used are dismantled into their raw components to be granulated and reduced into raw plastic, glass or metal and re-processed into usable items again in the future.
We will provide a record of serial number or asset tags for your records upon request.
